Memorial Weekend!

So my mom and Kelly both have already posted about Memorial weekend on their blogs and a lot of these pics are the same ones.. but I wanted to post about it too just so I had it on here! Memorial weekend was so much fun! We went camping out at the falls :) Jonathon and Derek rode their bikes a lot and we went on a couple fun 4-wheeler rides. We took our dogs and they had a blast :) Kelly and Nicole rode down with us.. and Nicole seemed to enjoy camping. We ate lots of yummy food and had a great time with the family. Grandma Josie even came!

I seriously can't believe it is already MAY... What is going on here? This year is flying by so quickly and it isn't slowing down one bit. Life is still busy as ever... Even though I am not working near as much as I used to ( which has been really great!) Life is still busy.. Jonathon left early this morning to go back to work for his week on... I already miss him :( It is hard having him gone.. But when he is home we have so much fun together! Alexis loves having Jonathon all to herself while he is home :) They are always playing together.. she even helps him with the yard work! Our grass is getting really green again.. Now if the weather can just stay nice!!! My flowers look awesome, and I'm so happy they didn't die when it snowed just a couple of days ago.. WHY is it snowing??

Working at Dr. Sharp's office is fun as ever! Our staff just keeps growing! We now have a NP there that will start working Saturdays. ( I don't work Saturdays.. thank heavens!) But she is super nice.. and I can't believe I've already worked there for a year!! I absolutely love the people I work with.. and I'm so glad they keep me around.. even though I only work 3 days a week. lol
I'm just so glad I have a job that I love :)

So I'm getting more comfortable with the Rats... (I still won't really hold them though.) I just hurry and get them out for Alexis. They've been a fun addition. But a little messy. At night they will throw out their food and newspaper that they use for bedding.. so I always have to vacuum every morning.. But oh well.. Alexis loves them, so I guess we have to keep them!

Our dogs are great! They are so much fun :) They are very good dogs, and I'm glad I let Jonathon convince me to get them.. It kind of stinks that I have to post about Rats and Dogs and not about babies.. but I know my time will come to have another one someday. Until then Rats and Dogs it is :)

Alexis oh my Alexis... She just grows and grows. She has been saying the most hilarious things lately.. and I'm seriously going to have to start carrying around a notebook just to keep track of the things she says. The other day she was in the bathtub and out of nowhere she says "Better out than in, I always say!" For those of you that don't know that saying, it is off of "Shrek" when he farts.... :)
She walks around singing all sorts of Disney songs.. like The Little Mermaid song. She has the prettiest little voice!
Today she turned on the T.V. by herself.. Yes that part isn't hard.. But we have Comcast and you have to turn the T.V. on then also find the right button to turn the box on.. which she has never seen.. then once you are in there you have to go to guide and search through the channels to find what you want.. Well somehow she ended up finding Disney.. No idea how she did that, because my little sister Keri can't even work our T.V. lol.
Then, this is a little embarrassing... the other day when Jonathon got home from work.. Alexis says to him "Daddy, are you and Mom gonna have sex now?" Yeah I almost FREAKED when he told me this.. They tell you not to freak out if your kids ask about that.. so Jonathon calmly asked.. Alexis where did you hear that word? "Um, I don't know." She said. Then Jonathon asked her what it meant.. and she said "It's when Daddy and Mommy kiss and hug." WELL I'm glad that her thought is very innocent.. But we did have a talk with her and told her that we don't say that word.. and that Mommy and Daddy kiss and hug because we are married. What do you say to a 3 almost 4 year old? Hopefully we said the right thing... And I hope she doesn't say that word again... BUT now days little kids just hear things all over.. and it is very scary. We DO NOT let Alexis watch any t.v. shows other than Disney or Little Bear.. so I don't think she got it off of the T.V. Anyways... I just wish that I could place her in a bubble and keep her safe from the world.. But Alexis is a good little kid.. and if we ask her not to say something.. or tell her that a word isn't very nice.. she will make sure to tell everyone.. (No matter who it is..) That we don't say "that" word.
She is always asking questions about anything and everything.. and she just wants to learn everything she can... It is so funny, but sometimes I really don't know the answer. She keeps me on my toes.. and I love her more than words could ever describe. I'm so thankful for Jonathon and Alexis.. and my family :) Well I guess I'd better get to bed..

Cinderella and Bella

These things that they call "Rats" are Alexis' newest pets.... She decided to name them Cinderella, and Bella. The names have changed a few times since so I don't know what their names are for sure. Jonathon and Alexis just love them.. I on the otherhand am still getting used to these things... I thought people tried to get rodents OUT of their house... not invite them IN. But whatever I guess.. Today I finally actually picked one up... long enough to put it in Alexis' lap. Alexis laughs at me because I seriously freak out.... the other night Jonathon told me I had to get used to holding them because when he is gone I have to get them out for Lexi. Well I wasn't ready and he put it in my hand.. I freaked and let go of it.. and the dumb thing crawled into the couch cushion. The couch we have upstairs the cushions don't come off.. they are attached and the thing got all the way down into the bottom of the couch. Jonathon had to CUT (yes Cut) the bottom of our couch to get the thing out.... It is an older couch so I don't care.. but The rat was in the couch for almost 10 mins... LOL

The Zoo!!

On Jonathon's week home we tried to do as much fun stuff all together as possible. One of the things we decided to do was go to the Zoo! Jonathon's family came along as well. Alexis had a good time looking at all the neat animals.

Well since Jonathon has to be gone for a whole week when he is at work.. I've kind of had to step it up with some of the things we do on a daily basis. I've been feeding and walking the dogs (well they pretty much walk me!) I'm attempting to cook like Jonathon does.. Because Alexis will let me know if Daddy's food is better :) I finally was brave enough to pick up one of the Rats we now have... (I'll post a pic of them soon.) I picked it up long enough to hurry and put it in Alexis' lap. I don't know why but it's taking me a little bit to be brave enough to hold the dumb things.... :) And then today I pulled a million weeds out of our yard and my back is broken I believe. Those are just a few things... I'm sure this summer when he is gone for a week I'll have to mow the lawn too :( Oh well I'm learning something new all the time! I was so proud of myself for actually walking those dogs by myself.. and picking up the rat. Those are Jonathon's jobs!

Quick Update

Well life has been extremely busy the last couple of weeks. I can't believe March is over and it's getting very close to the middle of April. I have a pretty good feeling that summer is just going to fly by :( Well we've had some changes in our life that have been both exciting and a little crazy! Jonathon is still running his Tile company and it has picked up since the weather has gotten warmer, but Jonathon is always trying to do something that is going to help us to be able to save money and put money towards his business ventures. Our brother in law Chad mentioned to Jonathon a few weeks ago that he knew of a Gold Mining Company in Elko, NV. that was hiring. Chad had found out from a guy that both him and Jonathon worked with in Ticaboo. Jonathon called the boss guy and the guy told him to drive down and meet him the next day. In the mining world you drive to wherever the job is... In this case 3 1/2 hours away.. then meet with the boss for maybe 15 mins, and drive back home. Then the boss guy calls at 8:00 pm. the next day and says be here tomorrow. You don't have a lot of time to get stuff together, or even get a plan going. It all happened very quickly and before we knew it Jonathon was down in Elko working for the Small Mining Division. It is a gold mine.. so everything has been new to Jonathon. He works a full week, 12 hour shifts and then gets to come home for a full week. He is in Elko for his second week of work right now and will be home on Tuesday night. It's been very different for all of us, because he's never been away from us for more than a weekend. But we know that will the kind of money you can make working as a miner, we will be able to save money and then Jonathon will also have the money he wants to start all of the businesses he wants to. Chad also got a job down there, but they are on different crews so when Chad's home Jonathon is gone. I feel blessed that oppurtunites come up for us that we can take advantage of even if it will just be something temporary. We do miss him lots when he is gone... But the weeks he is here we get him all to ourselves! He also still has time to do what he needs to with the Tile.

Me and Alexis are doing great! Life is busy, but we have so much fun together.. and I love my little girl so much!

My parents came up this weekend, and it was great to see them. Chad and Kelly officially have moved into the house they built in Provo and it is nice having them so close! Life is great.. and we have been truly blessed. We are still trying for a baby... but know it is in God's hands :) Alexis still prays every night for a baby. She walked up to me one day and said "Mom, our baby went up to heaven... but we have to keep praying for a new baby." She is such a sweet little girl, and when the day comes that we do have another baby.. she will be an excellent big sister!

Alexis is so beautiful :) She is growing so fast.. and I can't believe some of the things she says! She is such a mature little thing. She reminds me and Jonathon all the time to say our prayers.. and she says very good prayers! If you say any kind of "mean" or "bad" words even something like "crap" she'll say very loudly "We don't say that word!" She doesn't care who says it either.. she'll even tell strangers that :) Alexis is so much fun, and she reminds me every single day how lucky I am to be a mom! She is mine and Jonathon's whole life.. and we couldn't have asked for a better little angel! WE LOVE YOU baby girl!

Happy Easter!

Easter Weekend was a lot of fun! Jonathon, Alexis, and I went camping out at the Sand Dunes! It was pretty windy, but we still had a lot of fun! We camped with a friend of Jonathon's that he met from work. Alexis loves to go camping, and she asks us all the time if we can go! Hopefully we'll get to go camping a lot this summer :)

Kelly, Nicole, and Keri came over to decorate easter eggs, and let the girls do an easter egg hunt throughout the house! Little Nicoley had a good time.. but didn't really understand that she was supposed to find as many as she could.. She'd really just get one, and then that was good enough for her! Alexis had fun.. and kept asking me if we could hide more eggs. The next day she took out all of the eggs she had found.. and placed them in various places around the house, and had me look for them! She is so funny :)

Quick entry

Wow.. March is just flying by huh? I can't believe how fast this year is already going by. Well this month has been a busy one.. Starting new things and trying to still be the best mom possible. I'm so excited that it is starting to get warm. Jonathon, Alexis, and I took the dogs for a walk the other day to a park by our house.. It was a lot of fun to just get outside :) My mom, Derek, Ami, and the girls, Chad, Kelly, and Nicole were up here this past weekend. My mom watched Alexis for me when I was at work, and I think she is still recovering.. lol... We found out a week ago that Alexis had a pneumonia and the Dr. gave her some medicine that would make her very very cranky. It's nice having my sweet baby back again!! Today was a great day! I got off work around 12:30 and spent the rest of the day playing with my Lexi :) Well I don't have anything to exciting to say.. Just thought I'd write a quick post.

Birthday Fun :)

Well my B-day is on Monday the 8th so Jonathon planned a night out with friends last night.. We met everyone at Texas Roadhouse and then went dancing in SLC. It was a lot of fun visiting with everyone. It's always fun to get together with everyone :)
