Journal Entry

This weekend has been a lot of fun! On Friday we went up to Salt Lake and ate at a place called Christopher's Seafood and Steak or something like that. Anyways we went there for Jonathon's company X-mas party. It was such a nice restaurant. Thank heavens the company paid for it because each plate was $50. It was crazy... But fun to get dressed up and go to a fancy place :) After dinner Jonathon and I went and saw the movie "Avatar." It was SO SO good! I can't believe that they can make movies like that. It was a very good movie and I'm glad we went! On Saturday Alexis and I went out and did some last minute X-mas shopping. The stores were pretty crazy... but I was able to get everything I needed... And now we are set to go! When we got back home Jonathon started making dinner, and his family came over. We had dinner together and got to visit.. Also Chris and Summer had their new baby boy Preston Christopher last night :) He sure is a cutie!! I'm so happy for them, but it just makes me even more baby hungry! On our way to church I told Alexis that if she was a good girl at church that we would go see the baby.. She said "What baby?" I told her that Christian and Mary have a new baby brother. She said "But Mom, I want a baby brother." It was sad :( I wish so badly that we would just get pregnant already... I'm so very frustrated that it has been well over a year since we decided to really start trying again.. I'm frustrated for Ami too. I wish that we would both just get what we want.. and get pregnant. But I know it will happen when it is supposed to... I just really don't want to wait any longer... and Alexis asks for a baby every night in her prayers. Hopefully they will be answered sometime soon.

Well tonight we are eating dinner over at Jonathon's Mom's house, and will just spend some time visiting. I can't wait till Wednesday.. we will be going to Monticello!

Grandpa Carter's 70th B-day

Last night was Grandpa Carter's 70th b-day. We all went over to Jonathon's Aunt Valynn's house to celebrate and took a few pics!
This is all Jonathon's immediate family with Grandpa Carter.. Minus little Valynn and Jonathon's Dad.

Alexis and Aleah :)

I think she is missing Summertime...

So I'm pretty sure that Alexis is missing summer! We went swimming quite a bit in the summer, and she has really been wanting to go! So the other night she got her swimming suit on and asked if she could go swimming in the bathtub :) She is so funny!!

Alexis' Dance Recital and a long Journal Entry :)

Wow... this month has just flown by.. I can't believe it's exactly a week until X-mas.. I don't feel like we've gotten to enjoy this season long enough :( And that is that I put up our X-mas tree early! It just seems like the days just keep passing so quickly and then before you know it a whole year has flown by.. This time last year Keri and I were driving down to Monticello to see our beautiful niece Nicole be born.. She will be 1 yrs. old tomorrow :) It is just so crazy to me that she is already that old.. She is already walking! And of course my little Lexi isn't a baby anymore.. and she hasn't been for a long time now... This year is the first X-mas that she understands about Santa Clause, and giving and getting presents. Last year she was still more into the wrapping paper than anything else.. So this year has been a lot of fun! I got most of her gifts on Black Friday this year.. so they've been wrapped under the tree for about 3 weeks now. Everyday she has asked me if she can open a present.. and I have to tell her that it still isn't X-mas yet. I did go to Seagull Book and got a lot of really cute books, and wrapped them. So she has been opening one every day and then we read it together. Anytime she even starts thinking about being a stinker I tell her that Santa only visits good kids.. It kind of helps lol...

Alexis had her very first Dance Recital on Dec. 12th! She did such a good job :) I was so so very proud of her.. I don't think as a momma I couldn't have been more proud! I thought for sure she'd get up there and get scared of all the people in the audience. But nope I was wrong.. the second the music turned on she just started dancing! She actually knew her dance really good. Dance for Alexis has been so fun. From the second she wakes up to the time she goes to bed... all she ever wants to do is dance. And for a 3 yr. old she has some really good moves! Her smile is just so big anytime her favorite songs come on.. For some reason she really likes the song "Paparazzi" It is so funny... She just loves to dance to it! And anytime we get in the car I have to turn that song on. She actually knows most of the words too! She is just such a performer :) She always puts on her dance clothes and dances around the house! I'm sure we'll have the chance to see several Dance Recitals throughout Alexis' life, and I can't wait :)

Well like I said I feel like Dec. has just flown by.. I wanted to get X-mas cards out this year.. but of course the time to send them out is winding down.. I'll have to get a move on that!

This past week I had the unfortunate chance to get to know what a Kidney Stone feels like :( I never ever want to go through that again. Last Wednesday night when I was sitting with Jonathon watching t.v. my back started hurting so bad. I thought I just maybe pulled something.. boy was I wrong.. I tried to sleep that night.. but I was in so much pain.. Pain that I can't describe. The next morning I did my very best to get ready to go to work. I figured that maybe I would get there and the pain would go away.. and if not at least I would be at a Dr.'s office. So I drove the 30 mins. to work in excruciating pain.. There were a few times that the pain was so bad I thought I was going to pass out. I made it safely to work.. and as soon as Dr. Sharp got there the did a Urine test and sure enough there were positive signs of either a Kidney infection or a Kidney Stone. They gave me an antibiotic shot and sent me home with pain killers. The second I walked in the door I just collapsed into Jonathon's arms.. It hurt so bad :( So he stayed home with me and took care of me all day.. I couldn't keep anything down.. so when I'd take the pain killers, they wouldn't do anything before I threw them up.. So then the Dr. called in some anti-nausea medication for me :) That helped so much!

Well Alexis' dance recital was of course on that Sat. so my parents had planned to come up north to watch her. So they came on Friday afternoon. I felt so bad because pretty much the whole time they were here I was either sleeping or complaining about the pain. The pain killers I was taking also made me extremely irritable... I was pretty much a nightmare to be around.. (Sorry guys.) Everyone was really great though.. and I think they still had fun.. Ami even came up! And Kelly and Chad were here because they were getting stuff in order to start building their house in Provo. So we had a full house! At the end of everything.. Jonathon was probably ready to rip my hair out from me being so bossy all weekend. My family ended up staying until Monday morning because the weather was so bad.. and Monday afternoon all of a sudden it just stopped hurting. So the Dr. says it was definitely a Kidney Stone, but it might have just been a smaller one, so it was able to pass more quickly. When Jonathon had one his lasted 2 weeks. I don't think I could have done that for 2 weeks. So anyways I'm so glad that is over.. but once you get Kidney Stones they say you are pretty much screwed :( So I'm sure I'll have to experience that again someday.. Just hopefully not soon.

On another note.. We are going home for X-mas :) We do every year!! I love going to Monticello and being with the whole family.. we play games and eat alot of junk! I'm sure I'll gain a million pounds.. I doubt I will blog before X-mas so MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
goodnight.

Journal Entry

Well for the last two days it has snowed off and on... And even though I HATE driving in the snow.. It really is starting to feel like Christmas Time which I LOVE!!! We put up of X-mas tree.. probably 2 weeks ago now.. and I can seriously just sit in the living room and stare at it forever.. I love the Christmas mood :) Alexis is getting so excited and wants to know when Santa is going to come to her house! For a 3 year old I have to say she is being pretty patient :) Alexis has her very first dance recital on Sat. and she is so excited. It can go one of two ways.. She will either be her goofball self and ham it up for the audience.. Or she'll be in her shy mood and just stand there and start crying.. I'm really really hoping that she hams it up for the audience. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I went to Target today and got Alexis a pair of snowboots and a snowsuit so that she could go out and play in the snow with her dad.. She came back in the house after about 3 minutes of being outside in the freezing cold.. and her little nose and hands were red :( But she did have a fun 3 minutes and now she can't wait to play in the snow again!

Our puppies are growing and growing.. They can almost already knock me down. Of course Gibson is a lot bigger than Jade already... But they are both very hyper, and I'm just glad they live outside.

I now have a second calling in the church, and that is a Visiting Teaching supervisor.. It will definately help me to do my visit teaching, because I will feel like a loser when I call my girls and ask them if they've done their's if I haven't done mine yet... So I'm excited.. So even though I don't get to be in the Relief Society because of Nursery, I'll still get to be part of it and meet new people.

Anyways.. we are all doing well, and somehow have kept from getting sick during these crazy flu times.. Hopefully we'll keep it up! We are excited for Christmas and excited to spend time with family :) I'm also VERY excited that Chad and Kelly have decided to build a house in Provo.. They will be about 45 mins. from us which is alot better than 4 hours! So hurry up guys :)
Goodnight.
