I guess we'll try this one more time...

So since Jonathon and I have known eachother.. We have tried to have a dog 3 different times now.. The first dog we had was a Pit Bull that Jonathon got when we were dating and named him Oakley.. He chewed EVERYTHING .. So we ended up giving him away to one of Jonathon's friends back in Oregon.. We had him for about 2 months is all. the second dog we tried to have was the hound dog we named Copper.. he NEVER shut-up.. he was always whining.. So he lasted oh about 3 days... I told Jonathon as soon as we had our very own house he could have a dog.. For Alexis' b-day back in July we almost got her a Yellow lab.. but pretty much talked ourselves out of it after we thought about the experiences with the other dogs... Well last week Jonathon called me when I was in Monticello and said that his cousin was going to give him a pure bread Boxer puppy! He was so very excited and I said as long as we don't have to pay for him then whatever.. These puppies can sell for $500 dollars or more.. So to get one for free was pretty neat :)

So we were excited to get the puppy and Jonathon decided to go with a boy. Jonathon's grandpa thought that he wanted one so he got a girl puppy.. Well we've fallen in love with both of the puppies.. and in fact they have been the very best puppies ever :) They keep eachother entertained and when they fall asleep they cuddle and it is so stinkin cute! Jonathon's grandpa pretty much decided he didn't want a dog, so Jonathon talked to his cousin and he said we could keep both..

Alexis absolutely loves them.. and talks about them 24/7. They are the cutest things ever :) And like I said they have been so good.

So most people that know me know that I will NEVER have animals in my house.. No No.. I made a deal with Jonathon that until they are old enough to not freeze to death outside at night they can stay down in the basement in the one room of our whole house that does not have carpet.. It is cement and it's down in our furnace room. They have a little place under the stairs that they sleep in... They DO NOT go on my carpet at all.. and never will be aloud to do so. When we want to play with them we are either in the kitchen or outside.. Jonathon's grandpa has a really really nice dog run outside in his back yard.. and that is where they stay during the day.. And then when they are old enough that's where they will always be. I've really enjoyed having the dogs and I know that Jonathon is just loves them :)

We were discussing names for the puppy before we got him and kept going back and forth between a few different one.. Alexis kept saying she wanted to name him Duke :) It was so funny.. Then at 3 o'clock in the morning one night.. Jonathon woke me up and said "What about Gibson?" Gibson is the brand name on Jonathon's other baby (his guitar) and so he just thought it should be Gibson.. I was like yeah sure whatever.. But ofcourse I was half asleep.. It's grown on me though. We decided to name the girl Jade :) So Gibson and Jade it is! Wish us luck with these new pups!! Hopefully we'll have them longer than the other dogs we've tried to have!
