Wow... this month has just flown by.. I can't believe it's exactly a week until X-mas.. I don't feel like we've gotten to enjoy this season long enough :( And that is that I put up our X-mas tree early! It just seems like the days just keep passing so quickly and then before you know it a whole year has flown by.. This time last year Keri and I were driving down to Monticello to see our beautiful niece Nicole be born.. She will be 1 yrs. old tomorrow :) It is just so crazy to me that she is already that old.. She is already walking! And of course my little Lexi isn't a baby anymore.. and she hasn't been for a long time now... This year is the first X-mas that she understands about Santa Clause, and giving and getting presents. Last year she was still more into the wrapping paper than anything else.. So this year has been a lot of fun! I got most of her gifts on Black Friday this year.. so they've been wrapped under the tree for about 3 weeks now. Everyday she has asked me if she can open a present.. and I have to tell her that it still isn't X-mas yet. I did go to Seagull Book and got a lot of really cute books, and wrapped them. So she has been opening one every day and then we read it together. Anytime she even starts thinking about being a stinker I tell her that Santa only visits good kids.. It kind of helps lol...
Alexis had her very first Dance Recital on Dec. 12th! She did such a good job :) I was so so very proud of her.. I don't think as a momma I couldn't have been more proud! I thought for sure she'd get up there and get scared of all the people in the audience. But nope I was wrong.. the second the music turned on she just started dancing! She actually knew her dance really good. Dance for Alexis has been so fun. From the second she wakes up to the time she goes to bed... all she ever wants to do is dance. And for a 3 yr. old she has some really good moves! Her smile is just so big anytime her favorite songs come on.. For some reason she really likes the song "Paparazzi" It is so funny... She just loves to dance to it! And anytime we get in the car I have to turn that song on. She actually knows most of the words too! She is just such a performer :) She always puts on her dance clothes and dances around the house! I'm sure we'll have the chance to see several Dance Recitals throughout Alexis' life, and I can't wait :)
Well like I said I feel like Dec. has just flown by.. I wanted to get X-mas cards out this year.. but of course the time to send them out is winding down.. I'll have to get a move on that!
This past week I had the unfortunate chance to get to know what a Kidney Stone feels like :( I never ever want to go through that again. Last Wednesday night when I was sitting with Jonathon watching t.v. my back started hurting so bad. I thought I just maybe pulled something.. boy was I wrong.. I tried to sleep that night.. but I was in so much pain.. Pain that I can't describe. The next morning I did my very best to get ready to go to work. I figured that maybe I would get there and the pain would go away.. and if not at least I would be at a Dr.'s office. So I drove the 30 mins. to work in excruciating pain.. There were a few times that the pain was so bad I thought I was going to pass out. I made it safely to work.. and as soon as Dr. Sharp got there the did a Urine test and sure enough there were positive signs of either a Kidney infection or a Kidney Stone. They gave me an antibiotic shot and sent me home with pain killers. The second I walked in the door I just collapsed into Jonathon's arms.. It hurt so bad :( So he stayed home with me and took care of me all day.. I couldn't keep anything down.. so when I'd take the pain killers, they wouldn't do anything before I threw them up.. So then the Dr. called in some anti-nausea medication for me :) That helped so much!
Well Alexis' dance recital was of course on that Sat. so my parents had planned to come up north to watch her. So they came on Friday afternoon. I felt so bad because pretty much the whole time they were here I was either sleeping or complaining about the pain. The pain killers I was taking also made me extremely irritable... I was pretty much a nightmare to be around.. (Sorry guys.) Everyone was really great though.. and I think they still had fun.. Ami even came up! And Kelly and Chad were here because they were getting stuff in order to start building their house in Provo. So we had a full house! At the end of everything.. Jonathon was probably ready to rip my hair out from me being so bossy all weekend. My family ended up staying until Monday morning because the weather was so bad.. and Monday afternoon all of a sudden it just stopped hurting. So the Dr. says it was definitely a Kidney Stone, but it might have just been a smaller one, so it was able to pass more quickly. When Jonathon had one his lasted 2 weeks. I don't think I could have done that for 2 weeks. So anyways I'm so glad that is over.. but once you get Kidney Stones they say you are pretty much screwed :( So I'm sure I'll have to experience that again someday.. Just hopefully not soon.
On another note.. We are going home for X-mas :) We do every year!! I love going to Monticello and being with the whole family.. we play games and eat alot of junk! I'm sure I'll gain a million pounds.. I doubt I will blog before X-mas so MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
goodnight.
