It's so crazy that I'm at 502 blog posts! That is a lot of posts :)
I'm so thankful for this blog! It is sooo fun to go back and look at things we've done the last few years. If it weren't for this blog, I wouldn't have a journal or scrapbook.
Well we've been here in Elko for almost a week, and it's been nice hanging out with Jonathon. My mom also drove here so we've been spending time with her and my Dad also. Being in Elko makes for loooong days.. because Jonathon leaves at 4:30 a.m. and gets back at 7 p.m. The girls wake me up around 7:30 or 8 a.m. and we have to try and keep ourselves entertained all day long. We've gone swimming every morning and both the girls really like that! We've also played at the park :) It's nice to go out for dinner with Jonathon as a family every night.. and just talk to each other. I'm so lucky and blessed to have such a hardworking husband. I love him very much, and miss him sooo much when we are apart.
The girls and I will be heading home tomorrow because Alexis has her 4Th riding lesson on Friday morning.. and also has a Open House thing to go to for school on Saturday.
Alexis started horse riding lessons a few weeks ago! We decided that we wanted to see if Alexis' obsession with horses was just a phase or if it was something she really was passionate about. Well I think we now know that it is something she LOVES! She has no fear around horses and her teacher said she was a natural from day one. The horse she's been riding is named "Sunny." Alexis' is learning how to do literally everything you need to know in order to ride a horse. She even leads the horse, brushes the horse, saddles it, and cleans the horse shoes. She loves being on "Sunny" and does such a good job during her lessons! I'm sooo proud of her! We've been looking around for horses to see if we can find her one. The lady that is teaching Alexis also cares for horses and will keep the horse for us if we find one. Then Alexis can just go ride the horse whenever she wants. So I guess we'll see. Alexis says she'd rather us buy her a horse for her b-day present this year then take her to Disneyland. When I was Alexis' age I would've definitely picked Disneyland.. LOL! But she knows what she wants.
Alexis will be starting dance in September! And she is VERY excited :) We've also decided that we will be putting Alexis in Preschool this year instead of Kindergarten. I really don't want her to be the youngest in her class.. and since she just barely turned 5 we decided it'd be best to wait. She also hasn't been able to attend a full year of preschool yet, since we moved before she could finish. So she starts that at the end of August! She is also super excited for that! So we'll have one busy little lady soon! I think it'd be fun to put her in Gymnastics too! I just want my kids to have the opportunity to try anything they want to.. and that is also something she is wanting to try.
Well we've been trying to think of some ideas for a family vacation this summer before Alexis' gets to busy. It is so hard though because Jonathon still doesn't have a set schedule. So we never know for sure when he'll be off. They are supposed to be getting more set schedules very soon to where he'll work 2 weeks and then have a week off.
A few ideas we've come up with are...
*Disneyland - Who doesn't love Disneyland? But we don't really know if it'd be worth it with Kinleigh, because Jonathon or I would have to stay and watch her while either him or me went on rides with Alexis.) Plus Alexis is still a little too short to ride on the cool rides with her Daddy!
*Disney Cruise! - This would be SOOOO fun! Of course we could do either a 4, 5, or 7 night cruise. But I don't know how much I'd want to do a cruise with 2 kids, and Jonathon and I are wanting to do another cruise for our Anniversary this year. So 2 cruises in less than 4 months is a little intense.
* Oregon Coast! - This would be a lot of fun! We'd be able to stay with a few family members and friends along the way. There are a lot of neat stops along the way.. but all together it'd be over 30 hours of driving :( and Kinleigh HATES her car seat.
*Lake Powell! - Of course once again this would be a lot of fun! We would want to do this with my family though, and right now the boys schedules are different. :(
So as you can see they all sound AWESOME! But they all have some downfalls as well. I am NOT giving up though. I'm determined that we go on at least one vacation before fall. :)
