Journal Entry

Just wanted to hurry and post what we've been up to this past week and a half. Last Monday my mom and I went to Dove Creek and had Jackie do our hair! Jackie is the only person that has ever done my hair exactly the way I wanted it each time. I just have to tell her what I am kind of wanting and it turns out perfect! She is amazing :) So I'm happy that I live so close to her right now. When we got home Sam, Ami, mom, dad, Jonathon, me, and Alexis drove to Moab for kind of a fun get out of the house night :) We went to dinner and went and saw a movie. Dinner was really good.. we ate at this Mexican restaurant that I've never been to. The food was awesome and the prices were great! We went fishing a few more times.. with little luck... (But I guess fishing has been slow.) That is what the newspaper said anyways. Alexis started preschool last week as well. She absolutely LOVES it! Jonathon and I had to hurry and run up north on her first day of school to the ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby.. so my mom had to take her. Her teacher said she cried a couple of times saying that she wanted her mommy.. but the teacher was able to calm her down and she made it through! She was very excited to tell me all about it when I got home! Her second day went perfect and right when I picked her up she said "Mom, I didn't cry.. not one time!" Her teacher said she is a very good girl and that she gets along really well with all of the kids.
Our weekend was pretty much spent watching football. BYU lost :( Utah won! and the Oregon Ducks (Jonathon's main college team) won! I don't mind watching BYU.. but after so many hours I start getting bored. So my mom, dad, Alexis, and I went fishing again :)
This week Alexis had preschool on Tuesday and Wednesday and had a blast. On Wednesday it was her day to bring a show-and-tell item! She chose to take her guitar! I thought she'd get nervous and not sing her song.. but nope not at all. She sat down and just started singing. This is how her song went.. (She wrote it herself.) "If you want to be a cowgirl like me oh ya." There were a few more words after that.. Something about doing your homework.. ha ha and then she stopped singing and everyone clapped! The little kids just looked at her like how in the world can you play that thing. She is pretty good on her little guitar. Jonathon said he'll start teaching her chords when her fingers can actually reach up around it. I was so so proud of her! She has just grown into this big girl these past couple of weeks. I thought for sure I would have to stay those first couple days with her at school.. but all I do is give her a hug and kiss goodbye and she's already playing before I can get out the door. She just amazes me lately.
I can tell that she is really starting to get bored playing by herself all the time though. She can keep herself entertained for quite a while.. but then she'll ask me to go outside with her or play a card game... I don't mind of course :)
She said the funniest thing the other day. We went up to Izzy's soccer game the other night and Alexis got to play at the playground with Sorcia. Afterwards Sorcia and Izzy came over for just a few minutes and then had to go home. Alexis started crying and said that she didn't want her friends to leave her.. She asked me if she could go with them.. but they were already gone. I told her that I would play with her and be her friend.. and she said "You can't be my friend, you're my mom." But we went outside and got our bikes and went for a ride.. That made everything all better. I know she is getting very anxious for her baby sister to get here so that she'll have someone to play with :)
The other day she told me that she loves being here at Grandma and Grandpa's and wants to stay here forever.. She loves her grandparents! She also likes to go over to Grandma Josies with my mom everyday.. and she'll just sit there and tell Grandma Josie all sorts of stories! I know my grandma enjoys our company so we try to visit everyday.

On Wednesday night my mom and I went over to Kelly's mother-in-laws house because she was having a jewelry party. I'm not huge into jewelry.. sometimes I wish I was because some stuff is so cute! I did find two very cute rings and I'm very excited for them to come. It was fun to visit with Kelly's mother in law.. and also just fun to look at jewelry!

Last night we all went to the Volleyball games. The Lady Bucks played San Juan Broncos. I had not been to a volleyball game in I don't even know how long. So Alexis and I even went to the C and JV games also. The C team was tied 2 games to 2 and won the fifth game! The JV was tied 2 games to 2 and lost the fifth game.. and the Varsity also was tied 2 games to 2 and lost in the fifth match 14-16. All the games were so close and I thought the Lady Bucks did an awesome job! I remember in high school San Juan was always a team to beat when it came to Volleyball. And I was very impressed with how the girls played. So in all I Alexis and I watched volleyball from 4 - 10 pm. yesterday. Alexis was awesome! I couldn't believe she stayed entertained that whole time! Jonathon even enjoyed watching the game :)

It is Homecoming week here in Monticello so today was the little parade they do. It went right by my moms house this year (very convenient) so we put our chairs out and watched the marching band, cheerleaders, football team, and class floats :) Alexis got a lot of candy! Derek made sure to throw her her favorite candy bar too! Tonight when the boys get home from work we are all gonna go to the football game.

Someone asked me the other day what it was like being back in Monticello. I told them that when we first thought about coming here I was not very excited.. But it really hasn't been bad. It is very peaceful here. The other night while we were fishing there was the most gorgeous sunset and the views of the lake and the mountains is always just breathtaking. I didn't have my dang camera of course but it was just such a nice night. It has also been so much fun being here with my parents and brother. Derek isn't really ever home.. but it has been nice to get to see him. He is growing up so fast.. and who knows where this life will take all of us. I know that my mom gets lonely sometimes.. with my dad at work and Derek bumming around.. So she really likes having Alexis and I here. It's been fun to get to be with her everyday. On Sunday morning at 7 am. my dad woke me up to go fishing with him. (My mom was supposed to come, but she didn't want to wake up.. lol) So it was just the two of us. Anybody that knows my dad knows that he isn't someone that talks a lot. He likes quiet and usually if you ask him a question he'll respond with a yes or no and that is that. It was fun just talking to him while we were fishing :) We had no luck at all with catching anything, but it was nice to be out there on the lake that morning with my dad. He started asking me if I ever really have any morning sickness and I told him no not really.. Not more than 5 minutes later I got really dizzy and thought I was going to fall in the water.. and then I threw up. My dad was like "I guess I shouldn't have brought it up." lol.
My parents are amazing people that love each one of their kids so much. I don't think any of us siblings could ever repay my parents for all of the things they've done for us. I love them very much and am so thankful that they are letting us stay here :)

Jonathon is really liking working out at the Beaver Mine. He said it is so much better than working in Elko. I haven't heard him complain once about the work. The next 6-7 months are going to fly by and then he'll be going back up north in April of next year to do the Pest Control business and go full force with it! I'm glad we get this opportunity to save while we are down here so that he can quit working and just do the Pest Control next summer :)
