The "Mack Family."

I just wanted to share a story of a remarkable family in our Ward. I don't know if anyone even ever reads my blog anymore... but I know that my family still does and this story really just touched me.

On the very first Sunday in our new Ward we were about 10 minutes late. When we got there we sat in the back. I looked around and almost everyone in the room looked visibly upset. I looked at Jonathon and said "We missed something." All throughout the church meetings I kept hearing people talk about the "Mack Family." I could obviously tell by every ones faces that something horrible had happened. Later in Relief Society the Relief Society President was so upset that she just sobbed all throughout the meeting. I was pretty confused.. but didn't dare to ask anyone because I didn't know anybody and they didn't know me.
After Relief Society I guess my neighbor Aubrie could tell I was confused.. and she told me what had happened.
She said that the night before, a lady in the Ward had passed away. Her name was Wendy, she was 32 years old, and at the time she was 8 months pregnant. Aubrie wasn't completely sure how she had died, but said it was very unexpected. Wendy also has a 6 year old boy, 4 year old girl, and I believe a 2 year old little boy. It broke my heart.. and I thought about this "Mack Family" all week. Although I never met them and had no idea what any of them looked like, I couldn't stop thinking about them, or even begin to imagine what their little family was going through. Wendy died on April 30, 2011. Her sweet, precious little baby girl, whom they named Maylee passed away only a couple days after on May 2, 2011.

A couple of nights ago I happened to come across their family blog that Wendy had started. Her husband Denny now updates it. I read his posts and started sobbing. I could not stop crying. Just reading her husbands posts is so heartbreaking, but he has such strong faith in the Lord and in his plan.

To read the whole story go here. All the posts after that are so humbling and touching as well. I'm warning anyone who reads it though to have a box of tissue near by. I wish I could have met both Wendy and little Maylee :(

Our friends from Spokane know the Mack family too, I think it's possible they are in your ward. Aaron and Marissa Gwilliam, they have twin boys and a baby girl. Do you know them? I'm not quite sure if they just know Denny or if they are in his ward. What a small world that would be. And what a sad awful story, I read his blog too.
