This was taken the last day we got to spend with Derek. We had a family BBQ at Kelly's that day.. and then my parents drove him up to SLC so he could check in to his hotel. They went to Temple Square before they took him, and my mom got this picture of Derek and my Dad. Derek headed off to Basic Training in Missouri. He will be gone for about 4 1/2 months. It was sad saying goodbye, just because our family is so used to seeing each other so often. It will be weird for him not to be here. We don't have any communication with him other than we can write letters as soon as they let us know the address to send them. I know my Mom is having a pretty hard time. She spent some time up here with us girls, but headed home for a few days. I'm thinking she'll spend most of her summer up here with us girls.. just hanging out and helping with the new baby. My Dad is still in Elko, so he only goes home to Monticello every once in a while.. and with Derek gone now, there isn't really much there for my Mom to do.
I'm so proud of my little brother. He has grown up so much this past year, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for him. We all love him and we are going to miss him very much.

I absolutely LOVE these two pictures of Kinleigh and Havyn! They are so cute together.. and I really hope they grow up to be little buddies!
My girls were cuddling with their Daddy the other night.. and Kinleigh gave me this huge smile!
